So, I'm not really a blogger type of person or a good writer by any means, however I thought that this new adventure we are about to embark on in our lives might be worth blogging about. At least it will keep those of you who are interested in how things are going for us updated.
After countless talks, stress, consideration, and weighing out all our options we have decided we are going to dig up our roots here in Alaska and replant them in the beautiful sunshine of Arizona. This was and is such a huge decision for us. We love Alaska, this is home for us which makes this decision so much harder. There are so many factors going into why we are deciding to move and we are hoping that we are making the right decision for our family. We listed our house on the market today and we are keeping are fingers tightly crossed that it will sell quickly and just maybe Cohen can start kindergarten in Arizona and that this move will me a smooth transition for the kids. I'm not sure that will happen but we are hoping that it will.
There are so many things we love about Alaska that we will miss and we definitely will be coming back up often to visit. The hardest thing about leaving for me personally will be leaving my best friend. She is my shoulder and the person that knows me better than anyone. She is one of those very rare friends that you have in your lifetime that is a true friend and a blessing in your life. I can live without the other things I love about Alaska but I am really struggling trying to figure out how I will live without her so close by.
Tony is going to continue to work on the slope so he will be back up here every couple weeks and be able to stay up here after working if he would like to go fishing or camping, or snow machining in the winter and then come home to Arizona and relax in the sunshine. We are looking forward to being around family again and our friends that live there. As well as having the ability to drive to California and go to the beach or Disneyland or maybe to Las Vegas for a weekend trip for our anniversary. Living in Alaska is a one of kind lifestyle and we are very accustomed to it but we think we are ready for a change.
